I studied journalism at Penn State University and one of my first reporting jobs was with Advertising Age newspaper, the iconic media industry newspaper owned by Crain Communications.
I worked for the company's New York bureau, in Berlin, and in London, gaining an insider's perspective on how the media works for owners, advertisers and consumers in a variety of cultures.
These strategic and international perspectives on the media, combined with an entrepreneurial spirit to create new media concepts, is the foundation of what I do today from my base in Berlin, Germany. This currently includes editorial consulting for international media owners and corporate clients through KircherBurkhardt, and television news production for Deutsche Welle TV.
I have orchestrated joint ventures between British and German media owners, owned, managed and sold my own media company, and was for four years editor-in-chief of Berlin's fortnightly Zitty magazine.
